"The Eggperiment": The Transparent Egg
On Tuesday, we put an egg in a jar with white vinegar to see the inside. Here is how it is going:
Day 1: Sunk, same size, white, and still has its' shell
Day 3: Floating, bigger, beige to yellow, and slimy
Luk's reaction to feeling it today was, "Ooooo, it's slimy!" He is getting it. We are curious to see what becomes of it as the week finishes up.
Now to the "E" Lapbook: In the previous post, I put a carousel of the books that went along with the folder that I was putting together. It was a fun week talking about eggs, elephants, the "e" sounds, and pigs (part of the books).
Luk was putting together his "E" book and sorting the "e" words and their long/short sounds.
Then along with the sounds, he separated words (that don't start with "E") into Horton's nests.
Luk and his Emotions. Angry, Sad, Disgusted, Happy, Afraid, Sad, Surprised, Calm, Curious
He was really happy about acting these out, and telling me how something happens to bring out these emotions. It was great having him do this. He later had a great time acting them out again!
The arts and crafts for this book was the Golden Egg to go with the Aesop Tale, "The Goose and the Golden Egg," He finger painted (and brush painted) an Earth, and the puppet Eagle.
Handwriting Without Tears "E" and Elephant connect the dots.
The Birthday sheet was because his Birthday is tomorrow. He will 4! We are super excited! So, here is our Letter "E" Lapbook. I hope that it helps you with ideas and thoughts on how to teach the letter "E." I must say that Luk loves sorting the sounds. It has been a great treat teaching him phonics. Next week... The Letter "I"
love it!
